The objective of the project was the design, fabrication, procurement and implementation to the existing control system of 2 automatic dewatering units for 4 storage tanks. Each tank volume is 30 000 m3, and the products storage are naphtha, gasoline, diesel and hexane of the ethylene plant in Nizhnekamsk, Russia – Tatarstan.
The units are used for storage tanks dewatering, each unit is for 2 tanks. Dewatering process is always performed on one tank, operation is periodically. Dewatering units´ performance is 5 m3/h.
Separated water containing up free hydrocarbons 50 ppm of free hydrocarbons is discharged to the central waste water system, product is sent back to the storage tank.
This process prevents storage product losses as well as contamination of waste water with hydrocarbons.
