Feasibility study of the Coke Removal Unit (CRU) application for the quench oil loop.

The filtration unit removes solid coke particles without any shut down of the ethylene plant necessary. This system of filtration is an unique process, especially with respect to maintain the quench oil loop free of coke and discharge of dry separated coke from the CRU, with no negative impact to the environment and to health and safety. The process is owned by Intecha.

The principle of the process is removal of solid particles in hydrocyclones with subsequent filtration and washing procedure of the filtered particles to obtain a dry solid phase.
