COKE REMOVAL FROM QUENCH OIL SYSTEM IN ETHYLENE PLANT

Execution Time from: 09/1996
to: 05/1997
Execution Stage
Basic Design
Documentation for Building Permit
Lump Sum Turn Key
Client CHEMOPETROL, a.s.

Design and implementation of the filtration unit in the quench oil loop in order to remove solid coke particles without any shut down period of ethylene production.

The designed filtration system featured unique in-house developed process. It was the first installation of this process with a unique discharge of dry coke from the filters. The process owner is Intecha.

The process is based on removal of the solid particles in hydrocyclones, and on subsequent filtration and washing procedure of the filtered particles to obtain a dry solid phase.

The execution included a complete design of the process and the entire construction, which incorporated the new equipment to the existing production complex of the ethylene plant.
