Design and installation of the process of automatic dewatering system for four gasoline storage tanks in Recope refinery in Costa Rica.
The process is based on removal of deposited water at the bottom of the tank. Subsequently, water is separated from gasoline, whereas gasoline is sent back to the storage tank and separated water containing up to 50 ppm maximally of free hydrocarbons is discharged to the central waste water system.
This process reduces storage product losses as well as contamination of waste water with hydrocarbons.
