The total reconstruction of the waste water collection pit destroyed by explosion
The total reconstruction of the waste water collection pit destroyed by explosion consisted of:
- The new process concept of the waste water combined pit for waste water contaminated by hydrocarbons (including solid particles and heavy fuel oil) and for sewage water (canteen, offices, etc.) was designed. A part of this project was also new design of hydrocarbons separation so that the water pumped to the Central Waste water treatment plant contained max. 5 ppm hydrocarbons. The design minimized the wet part of the pit (minimal free area of the waste water contaminated by hydrocarbons), consequently aspiration and recuperation of hydrocarbon off-gas was not necessary.
- Reconstruction and modification of the construction of underground pit.
- Installation of operating and emergency pumps (in case of torrential rain) including associated piping connections and instrumentation.
- Installation of a oil/water separator above ground and pumps for separated phases.
